they are a bigger concerns probably for those with longer commutes than those who can afford living close to work.

One man or woman, including anyone in the office of president, has no real ability to control the price of gas or any other commodity. What the president says may affect the commodity market in short-term reactions but he/she will have no long-term control over a global commodity market.
American politics has been reduced to a "sports mentality" in that "fans" cheer for their favorite more out of tradition and loyalty. Unfortunately, politics isn't a "game" and the political "players" aren't there for us to admire and adore. We need to elect people who will work on behalf of the voters and not for the cheerleading lobbyists. We need action by our leaders to decisively reach solutions to our ever growing problems. More importantly, we need voters who can understand the difference.

as a U-6 party member, anything that rises price-wise is not welcome, and is a great concern to me..

It is all part of the same package. He shows the same incompetence in handling the economy, jobs, foreign policy, and immigration since 2009 that he used to create conditions that increased gasoline prices.

To me it's a giant collective concern. It's the whole package. We need Obama and all of his cronies out of office before this country is totally distroyed.

But it is listed, and as the economy continues to "sputter" people will remember the cost of filling the tank while visiting the polls.

not sure it would matter much with the countr so polaraized. Even for those that it is a big concern that it would be the deciding factor on how they vote

I've been concerned about gas prices, for a few years. It wouldn't change my opinion of the presidential candidates, though.

Obama has little to do with gas prices. If he did, then why are prices higher in Canada, or Europe?

If you think the current administration (or the last one) is responsible for high gas prices, then you fail to understand the role of markets and international profit-seeking corporations in the energy industry.

The daily prices themselves are largely not within the control of the President, and most of us understand that. The underlying policies of that President are very influential of the long term prices and we understand that also. Obama consistently fails at the policy level. We understand that all too well.
